Instructions on using save files for GTA 4:

1. Download desired GTA IV save file to your desktop.
2. Unzip it, right click on SGTA400 file and select Copy.
3. Enter save folder, remove everything from there and paste.
4. Start your copy of GTA IV and load the last save slot.

Game save directory location:

WIN7/VISTA: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\
WINXP: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames\ (last value is different for each pc)

For brand new game installation:

If you have a brand new game installation (which means you didn't play game before using downloaded savegame), it is recommended to start the game, and exit right after the first mission starts.
Do it before following the instructions above. This method will create necessary files within the game save directory.
